1. Presentations should be limited to 60 seconds. (Trust me, that’s quite a long time to be on stage!)

2. It is HIGHLY recommended that you pre-register on-line.  You may register at con up to 3:00 p.m. Saturday. 

3. Contestants meeting will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.  ALL contestants WILL fill out and sign the Waiver/Image release form
      A. If contestant is a minor, then a parent or legal guardian must fill it out.
      B. Failure to sign will result in instant disqualification

4. All contestants must be members in good standing of the Convention

5. All costumes *exception being Hall Costumes* being presented for judging must have documentation such as: a picture of the character/historical figure being represented, photos of you making the object, historical documentation if applicable, etc.

6. Purchased or Rental costumes may not be entered for judging (they may be entered as Performance only however, if you just want to show off your pretty costume!)

7. NO FIRE ALLOWED ON STAGE!  I am referring to open flames, fire, flash powder, or any type of smoke or fog.

8. No projectiles of any sort!

9. This masquerade is rated PG-13.  Violators will be asked to leave.

10. To quote Randall: “Thou shalt not slime thy neighbor!”  No messy substances allowed on stage or in back stage area.  This could pose a safety hazard and/or interfere with other’s costumes.

11. No flash photography while contestants are on stage.

12. All children MUST have a parent or guardian in tow.  We are too busy to provide adequate babysitting.  In other words:  your children are your responsibility, not ours! *Security will be called to collect unaccompanied minors*

13. If your costume was made by someone else (for love not money) it’s still fan made and qualifies to be entered.  Just be sure to give proper credit on all the forms.

14. Keep the action on the stage!  Weapons, stunts and special effects MUST be approved in advance by the Masquerade Director.  If they are not, you will be immediately disqualified and possibly asked to leave the convention.

15. All weapons must be peace bonded unless approved by BOTH the Director AND the Security Officer.  We will have a Security Officer at the 11:00 meeting to take care of peace bonding for you, if necessary.

16. Surprise the audience, NOT the crew!  Refer to rule #15.  Also, if you want to interact with the M.C., you need to rehearse with him!

17. The Masquerade Director is Queen.  She has full authority to eject ANYONE from the masquerade on the basis of unrepentant bad taste, danger to the other contestants or audience, violations of the above rules, or any other reason deemed sufficient.  The Back Stage Managers and “Den Mommy’s” are the Directors’ duly deputized clerks and may exercise similar authority as needed.
