CopperCon 23
 CopperCon 23 Charity Auction
Last year’s Charity Auction raised  $525 each for our charities, The Ronald McDonald House and Reading is FUNdamental. This year our Charity Auction will benefit Reading is FUNdamental and ACTOR (A Commitment To Our Roots) in memory of Dave brown. We’ll be auctioning off books, art, posters, toys and other Science Fiction and Fantasy memorabilia. Most of these items will be on display Friday and Saturday in the Art Show. The auction will take place Saturday afternoon starting at 4 p.m.

Reading is FUNdamental (RIF) develops and delivers children’s and family literacy programs that help prepare young children for reading and motivate school-age children to read. By the end of this year, RIF will have provided new, free books and other essential literacy resources to more than 5 million children and their families. For more info, check out their web site at www.rif.org.  They also now  have an online destination for kids, the RIF Reading Planet.

ACTOR (A Commitment To Our Roots) is the first-ever federally chartered not-for-profit organization dedicated strictly to helping comic book industry veterans.  Through ACTOR, a safety net is created.  Financial aid is available for comic creators who may need emergency operations, necessities of life, or sometimes a helping hand back into active work in the comics industry.   Charity auction proceeds from CopperCon 23 will be donated to ACTOR in the memory of Dave Brown, an All About Books and Comics employee who passed away in May and had organized several charity events for ACTOR.  Please visit ACTOR's web site to learn more about them.  For more information on Dave Brown, visit this Dave Brown Memorial site at All About Comics.

Listed Below are some of the initial donations we have collected.  Keep watching for updates as we obtain more donations and add more detail. Any fans who would care to donate any personal work or memorabilia for exposure, or know of any potential donation material are encouraged to contact our Charity Auction coordinator, Catherine Book
