Jordin T. Kare was born in Ithaca N.Y. in 1956. He was a Graduate of Cornell (Nursery School). He Filked as early as elementary school. In 1975 at his first Con, the Boskone Science Convention, Jordin discovered that others also Filked.

In 1978, he moved to California and quickly established himself in local Fandom. He published "The Westerfilk Collection in 1981 and founded Off Centaur Publications in 1982 He got his Ph.D. in Astrophysics in 1984. In 1991 he married Mary Kay, the same day as the great Oakland Fire (not his fault or so he claims). He and Mary Kay have no children, but two cats honor them with their presence.

He is a self employed rocket scientist whose motto is "will build secret weapons for food". At Consonance he mentioned that some unnamed company was actually paying him to work on an interstellar drive.

In addition to his concert and Filk Circle activities, Jordin will be taking part in Hard Science Panels at CopperCon.

His well known Filk "Heart of the Apple Lisa" drew a standing Ovation when he first performed it at ConCertino.
