Most of the time when there is a comedy with big names the funniest parts are often in the trailers and the movie is a let down. However once in a while the trailer is the least funny parts of the film, this is one of those times.
We begin the movie with the background of Charlie (John Travolta) and Dan (Robin Williams), they have been friends for all of their lives and are the owners of a sports advertising agency. While meeting with their potential new client Charlie tells the story of how seven years ago Dan, while recovering from his very painful divorce, went with him to Florida and met, wed, and divorced from Vicki (Kelly Preston).
Vicki comes back into Dan’s life with a small request, watch his children while she is in jail for trespassing. Dan’s condo is strictly adults only so they wind up at Charlie’s place for the duration of the visit. The age of the actors is mined for great comedy success and grandparent jokes abound.
The ending is sweet if predictable and you walk away with a good feeling.
