ConNotations Book Reviews
Tom Sawyer and the Undead
Mark Twain and Don Borchert
TOR; 304 pp., $13.99
Wow! Another classic re-written to include zombies.

All of the traditional Tom Sawyer moments but with a zombie twist. Whitewashing the fence becomes sharpening the fence pickets. Being thought dead becomes being thought Zum (the name for the diseased undead). The book is very much in the vein of Twain's work and if there had actually been Zum at the time Sawyer was written this could very likely have been his work.

I laughed more with this than I did reading the original. This trend of adding zombies to classics is becoming very enjoyable.

Highly recommended. ~~ Bob LaPierre
