The Return of Ixtab
by Robert Zitella
Emerald Books, $14.95, 268 pp
The Return of Ixtab is by the author of Karma.

In the weeks before December 21, 2012, most people dismiss the ancient Mayan prophesy of an end to the world. The rest look at as a reason to par-tay. Steve Soto doesn't think much about it until he becomes stronger and luckier than he had ever been. He finds himself a hero when he rescues a co-worker who becomes his girlfriend. Trying to find out why someone wanted to kill her, Steve finds that he has become involved with apocalyptic plans of his rich but unstable boss.

Intertwined is a parallel storyline in the far past that has a warrior prince grappling with a glowing rock and a neighboring clan with powerful destructive magic. The future of humanity seems tied to the Mayan prophesy, and the return of Ixtab.

We have a page turner, an epic that leaves the reader guessing to the last page. AND have you seen the billboards? ~~ Pam Allan
