Forest Moon Rising
by P.R. Frost
Daw, $15.00, 376 pp
Forest Moon Rising continues the adventures of Tess Noncoire, fantasy writer and Celestial Blade Warrior.

It has been a rough year for Tess and her bonded sidekick, the imp Scrap. She has bought a condo in Portland and met Writers Block. But Scrap, a gay boa that turns into a lethal sword on Tess's need, cannot replace Tess's loss of the love interest who went back to his wife. In Portland's Forest Park, there is a demonic intruder, the Norglien who kidnaps young women in the forest, impregnates them and then kidnaps the children to restore his race of demons

Injured in the forest, Tess will be forced to turn to the two men she would have nothing more to do with as well as some unexpected Allies. Can she defeat the demons, rescue the Norglien's offspring [ new version of single mother] and renegotiate with The Powers That Be a second time. Will she get out alive?

I love Frost's series. the reality of her characters, yes, especially Scrap, and the scenes at the local Sci-Fi Con will have you laughing on the floor. All hail the series. You will love 'em all. Go get them. ~~ Pam Allan
