The new year is underway, so let's take a look at how the genre shows are doing on the networks and what's coming up on cable and elsewhere.

The most sucessful genre show of the season so far looks to be ABC's Once Upon a Time. It has held up well in the ratings, especially in the younger demographics, and has been doing better than ABC's outgoing Desperate Housewives.
